Mar 14, 2018 Set Machine key parameters in webconfig. Mar 13, 2018 07:12 AM fatemeh97 LINK. I read How To: Configure MachineKey in ASP.NET in enter link description here It said: validationKey. This specifies the key that the HMAC algorithm uses to make ViewState tamper proof. This specifies the hashing algorithm used to generate HMACs.
Oct 18, 2011 This key is generally present in the machine.config file when you install.NET framework that is generally not visible to the user as it remains in the.NET Framework installation directory. When you specify the same key in your web.config, the value of machine key specified in the machine.config is overridden by the one you have specified in the web.config file.
We (our IT partner really) recently changed some DNS for a web farmed site we have, so that the two production server have round-robin DNS switching between them. Prior to this switch we didn't rea.
Mar 19, 2019 To enable the machine key works with the form authentication successfully, you may need to keep all the server use the same encryption and decryption key. You may also need to use generate keys button in action panel to generate the key manually, then you need to copy the key to all the server manually. Best Regards, Yuk Ding.
Jan 04, 2017 The property in web.config file configures algorithms and keys to use for encryption, decryption, and validation of forms-authentication data and view-state data, and for out-of-process session state identification. This encryption prevents tempering of session data on the server.
Apr 15, 2009 MachineKey in web.config There are few scenarios that you want to add MachineKey into your web application’s web.config: You have a web farm and in each server the machine.config set to auto generate machinekey. You want to use “Encyrpted” password format in ASP.NET membership provider.
I have already setup everything on my new IIS 7 box, but I am having a problem with the MachineKey. Our cookies are encrypted using the Machine Key, so when a user with a cookie from our old server arrives at our new server, the cookie cannot be decrypted since the Machine Keys are not the same. I want to set the machine key on my new IIS 7 server to be the same as the key on my old server so that the cookies can be decrypted and used properly. My research on locating the MachineKey in IIS 6 has pointed me to this directory: C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftCryptoRSAMachineKeys What I've learned is the the first portion of the key (up to the '_') is for the specific service. And the later part of the key (after the '_') is specific to the installation. In this folder, I have 4 files in here - how do I know what key is for my IIS service? If I need to use this key to set my MachineKey on my new server, do I take the whole thing, or only the first portion of it?
